Cons of Immigration Border Security

Image

Immigrants have been stopped plenty of times by the Border Security, but they have also escape over the border. The wall that keeps the immigrants from coming over to America cost a lot of money which comes out of the governments money. It also cost a lot to pay the border security guards for their help with stopping immigrants from coming over the border to America without being an American citizen.

The border wall is amazingly long and very hard to get through. But then the budget for the fence is skyrocketing. Taxpayers are paying more and more just because of this fence. Depending on the material the fence is made out of the cost usually ranges from 300 million to 1.7 billion dollars, but only depending on the material they use to build it, and keep it standing. The governments show that taxpayers have spent 90 billion dollars over the past 10 years to secure the US-Mexican border.

The prices for the security guards range from $4,500 to $75,000 just for one guard. Such as a drug-searching dog which costs 4,500 dollars. Just for a dog that’s a lot of money, but they keep from drugs getting over into the US. Also for a Border Protection officer it would cost 75,000 and that’s just average annual salary. But still if you think about it that is just a little too much to pay someone for being a security guard, but then at the same time it isn’t because they do a lot of work, so it’s worth it.

So since we have security that cost a lot to pay we have had less immigrants coming over to US without an American citizen card. So this has helped the US buy staying on a balanced budget and not having to change tax prices on and off. So my opinion on keeping immigrants out is that as long as we have the top class border security that they will not allow immigrants to come over to the US without having a American Citizen card. Which is needed to be an immigrant and stay in the US.

Mutuality with Immigration

Blog 3 by : Sam Wilson

There are many opposing sides when it comes to immigration. Some people think it’s wrong, some people think that immigration brings more benefits than negatives, I, for the other hand have seen both sides and  am indifferent on the issue for many reasons.

I have seen both benefits and negatives to the community because of immigration. New immigrants have always had a dynamic relationship with the United States society. There have been many crimes that have been committed by immigrants such as the case with Cornelio Rivera Zamites who molested and strangled 4 year old Esmeralda Nava.  Many illegal immigrants are considered criminals by anti-immigration groups. The pro- immigration groups argue that anti-immigration groups are only focused on events like 9-11-2001 and immigrants shouldn’t be considered criminals because crimes are realities of our society. They state that immigrants are no more prone to criminal activity than citizens.

There are just as many benefits as there are problems with the economy due to immigration. The costs of immigration with all the indirect costs every year ends up around $200 billion dollars of U.S. currency. It is estimated that 6-8 million dollars is given to Mexico each year. According to them we are helping another country unknowingly. Pro- immigration groups argue that although immigration costs a lot we earn back twice that amount by having immigrants.

Open immigration and closed immigration both have negatives and positives. Open immigration helps immigrants start a new life. The United States also gets a more diverse workforce. In some instances, it makes a more skilled work force. Open immigration would start to over populate the United States. It also creates a less stable economy. Closed immigration helps keep a more stable economy. Closed immigration doesn’t allow people to make their lives better. Closed immigration is also very difficult to enforce. It also has the gate community effect; where you need a certain amount of people in an area to function properly.

As you can see, there are many positives and negatives for immigration. On the con side there’s many crimes commited by immigrants, it’s expensive, and it helps over populate our nation. One the pro side immigration gives people a new start, it benefits the community, and it makes a better work force. My mutuality within the topic allows me to see both sides of immigration. With the information I have collected, I hope you see the reasoning on my mutuality of this subject.

     Immigr…

Immigration is something that can be bad and sometimes good for our country. The bad part is that people are coming illegally and that can hurt economies.  But there are also good things like a multicultural community. Immigration can also affect the country’s economy both positively and negatively. It can effect it by not bring in money to buy passports, green cards, or the correct papers to become a US citizen. But it also brings in more money in federal taxes than in the papers or green card. So immigrations can be good because it can bring in money to the country and it lets people restart their lives.

Yet the illegal immigrants are over populating the countries that they are immigrating to.  By illegally immigrating they can hurt their countries economy. If they do it won’t just affect their countries it can affect the country that they are goings to economy some times for the worse.  Even if the world’s types of economy structures mix to become a stronger economy if one fails, more than likely all will fail at one point or another. If the economy brake down most of the people will be in distress because they have to start over again.

Even though immigration can be good it can have a bad chain reaction linked to it that can affect most people with money and families. So if most people get affected by the economy that means if to many people leave or to many people come it can affect the economy and there is not enough workers or not enough jobs it will end up being negative to everyone apart of it. Also the illegal immigrants can bring in more federal taxes but they also have the government lose taxes in some other places like in passports and green cards.

So illegal immigrants can be literally on both sides of the fence of good and bad like with taxes and dodging the border patrol. The negatives were fewer taxes on stuff like pass ports and green cards, and stuff like the economy and jobs. When illegal immigrants immigrate they would hurt two countries economy’s the one there are emigrating from and the one they are immigrating to. Also even though more federal taxes less legal immigrants, more taxes for pass ports and green cards more legal immigrants. Either way there will be a down fall of taxes and more people.

The good and bad

People support both sides of immigration laws; I can’t really say I have an opinion that goes one way. I have understood both sides of the issue, and I do think that both sides have valuable facts that support their claims.  I do think that many people choose a side before they try to see the other.

On the closed border laws, I see crime rates do increase with immigration. With open border laws we may be letting people in who broke laws in their country. We have shown that we lost control of our southwest borders. As much as 2.2 million kilograms of cocaine and 11.6 million kilograms of marijuana were smuggled into the United States across the Mexican border in 2005. The majority of illegal immigrants are not directly associated with the drug trade. The DEA states that their presence allows Mexican traffickers to effectively conceal their activities. With so many people coming into the United States; our population is rising, and it is harder for people to find jobs, having illegal immigrants here doesn’t help our own economic problems

The pro-immigration side has good points also. Mexican people many times are trying to get away from the crime that has control of their country.  With the downfall of two Columbian cartels, Medellin and Cali, two powerful Mexican drug cartels, Sinaloa and the Gulf, are battling over the billion dollar drug trade between Mexico and the United States. If you had to worry about your child being taken and used in drug cartels, you would want better for them. All parents want their children to have a better life than they did, even if they had a successful and comfortable life. You have to see things through other’s eyes; they can take a chance at coming here and giving their child a safe place to live, but risk being caught and sent back, or stay there and risk being killed during the drug war.  We want to show the countries that look up to us that we should accept other cultures.

I think that both sides have strong points and I understand where both sides think their ideas should be used, so I can’t really say that I have an opinion that says I believe one or the other.

The Melting Pot

We’ve all heard the term melting pot, and over time America has come to be known as one. We have become known to accept different cultures, beliefs, and different people in general. In the United States we have about 306000000 people that’s the third highest population in the world! Our global migrant population is around 215.764. The percentage of our population that is foreign-born has been growing form 10% in 1995 to 15% in 2009. The multicultural nature that the United States has is important to us being successful because it is what makes us strong, and unique from other countries.
Most Hispanic’s in the America are educated, or want to become educated. In 2010 31.6% of foreign-born Latinos ages five and up reported speaking only English, or speaking it very well. Of Latinos 25 and older 62.2% have a bachelor’s degree according to a study made by the Immigration Policy Center.             The world’s total population is approximately 6.8 billion, the current United States population represents a mere 4.5% of the world’s population so about one in every twenty people on the planet is a resident of the United States of America. Of those 306000000 people only about 16.3%, or 49878000 would be Hispanic and an even smaller number would be Mexican.
Over and over again the United States has welcomed people other countries wouldn’t. Accepting new ways of life, languages and people is what makes the United States of America, the United States of America.  A reporter named Huong Le once compared us to a deck of cards saying. “The United States us like a deck of playing cards. No matter the sex, suit or ranks of each cards are, all are significant in its own way. Without one card the deck would be incomplete. America, similar to the deck, is insignificant without diversities. Diversity is what makes the United States complete. “United we stand divided we fall.” Without diversity, the United States will be at its downfall.”  This statement explains the importance of diversity in America, even the reporter looks to have an ethnic background. The United States needs diversity to strive, and to continue being successful.

Acepte los Mexicanos.  Ayude la gente crean una vida major. Hable con la gente de Mexico. No deporte le gente. No argumente con los estadounidenses. No cree mas problemas.

America, similar to a deck, is insignificant without diversities. Diversity is what make the United States complete. “United we stand divided we fall.” Without diversity, the United States will be at its downfall.

America has no diversities, it will be just an ordinary country like many others. Being versatile and diverse is what makes us unique and strong. By accepting different backgrounds and cultures into our daily American lifestyle, American have learn to accept that no matter who we are, or what we do, we are all human and should be treated as equals

By accepting different backgrounds and cultures into our daily American lifestyle, American have learn to accept that no matter who we are, or what we do, we are all human and should be treated as equals
When people to different countries, they will never hear people ask “what is your ethnicity?” among themselves. However, in the United States, That is a common saying. Why? It is because the United States is like a mini version of the world. It contains over 100 different ethnic groups. Due to that, this country has become stronger than any other country. By living with so many different backgrounds, people in the United States have learned to cope with each other and therefore create a strong bond between themselves. That is probably why so many people have dreamed to come to America, the free country. A country who will accept anyone for who they are not what their backgrounds are.
From the beginning of the history of America, this country has been all about diversity; accepting people from all over the world. Without the various cultures and backgrounds, the United States would not be such an important country like it is today. Basically, all the critical events that impacted this nation greatly have been mostly surrounded by diversity: the civil rights movement, Chinese immigration laws, women suffrage movements, etc. However we dealt with these events in the past, we have accepted all of them into our daily lives. Due to diversity, this nation has become a great threat to other countries. We have shown that different is good and by being different, we are strong and cannot be easily pushed over.
Diversity is what brings people from all over the world together to the United States. Without diversity, we wouldn’t have historical figures like Albert Einstein, Louis Armstrong, Martin Luther King Jr., Michelle Kwan, and many others. Every country is different in its own way, the United States is, however extra different. Due to so many different race living in the country, the United have not just become an ordinary country, it have become an extraordinary country. When there is hardship to overcome, everybody, no matter what nationality they are, come together and help out because together, we are a great nation and no one can conquer it.
To sum it up, diversity is what makes the United States. This country of ours would be nothing compare to the other countries. Due to our ability to accept different ethnicities and be equal, we become very intimidating to other countries, and that shows how strong we are and no matter what obstacles are ahead of us, we can overcome it.

Immigration ruins the economy

Sam Wilson blog 2

Have you heard of the economic issues that have been occurring recently? Many of us have and are affected by it. Many problems these days can be related to the economic crisis because it’s been such of growing problem. Believe it or not, one thing that is impacting the economic issue is illegal immigration.

Many costs due to immigration are major. During these pressing times any amount of money earned would be a good thing. Immigration is holding that back. The costs for the collateral impact of crime, accidents, education, and heath care are really hurting out economy.

Much of the money that is earned by immigrants is sent back home. We’re not talking a couple dollars, or even a couple hundreds. In 2006 it’s estimated that 45 billion dollars of U.S. currency was sent to Mexico. That’s a huge amount of money for anyone, especially a nation that’s over going economic issues. According to the Article ‘Impacts of Illegal Immigration: Economic costs’, that if you added all the direct and indirect costs of immigration that the cost of immigration could exceed 100 billion dollars each year. Also if you added the crimes and traffic accidents that relate to immigration the costs for immigration could be as high as 200 billion dollars. Using the 200 billion dollar figure and 300 million people in the US, that would be roughly 667 dollars for every citizen. Think about what you could get with 667 dollars and you would realize that’s a pretty big deal.

If we added more rights to immigrants, the money that is being taken away because of immigration would increase greatly.  If rights like amnesty would be granted to immigrants it is estimated that the fiscal deficit will grow by about 29 billion dollars. Fiscal deficit is the amount by which a sum of money falls short of the required amount pertaining to the public treasury or revenues. Amnesty is a general pardon for offenses, especially political offenses, against a government, often granted before any trial or conviction.

Immigration isn’t helping the economic issue. If anything, immigration hurts the economy. Immigration will continue to hurt and drain the economy. Immigration does directly affect us and whether we choose to believe that or not is our decision, but based on the facts I gave, it is validated that immigration does hurt our economy. If immigration continues to drain the economy like it has been, where will the economy be in the future?

Llama el repesentante. Entenda la politica. Discute las metas con el gobierno. No piense en luchar. No cree en el argumento. No lucha las personas.

Ryans post for immagration

immigration is something that can be good and sometimes bad for our country. The bad part is that people are coming illegally but there are also good things like a multicultural community.

Within the many countries there are many organizations that are pro-immigration. Plus there is the Dream act that was made in 2009 (no not the MLKJ speech I HAVE A DREAM) that makes it easier for people to immigrate to the USA.  Also the immigration of other people can help us know what’s happening in other countries. Also it can make it to where countries can learn how other countries economies are set up. That will let other countries improve their economies. Then people in their countries won’t need to illegally immigrate to another country. Then if no one illegally immigrated then everyone will be not ok but on their way of life.

But yet if illegal immigration was stopped we would stop getting those extra federal taxes. If those people getting taxed all of a sudden disappeared so would the taxes and the economy would be hurt. Also the Dream act was looked over for two years and now in 2012 they are trying to get it back up for congress to look at and sign. If that happens there may be less of a struggle to stop illegal immigration and have them come in legally.

If the immigrants legally immigrated then there would be less money but it would even out in other taxes. Then when we got more money then we can take another step towards no country debt. If that happens then we can start fixing the economy as much as we can. If that happens then the country can focus on helping other countries and that can help with world peace and the fights can start to end around the world.
